The Royal Canadian Air Force chose the Hornet as a replacement for the aging aircraft they had been using to defend NORAD airspace. Many of the Hornet's features, like twin engines, make it ideal for long patrols over Arctic waters. In addition to their watchdog role, these fighters have fought in many conflicts since the Gulf War. Canada's demonstration team, the Snowbirds, fly their aircraft with a panache to match the American Blue Angels. This limited edition kit features special decal markings for the R.C.A.F. demonstration team code: 781.
