Hi, I have FTX Colt, works well but the battery only lasts about 5 mins (if that!) I would like to upgrade but know nothing of RC model cars.. can you inform me of all the items I need to purchase to get a "LiPO" battery for the car (if you know any other ways to upgrade my car, please suggest) thanks -bn

You will also nrequire a LiPo charger. A cheap and cheeful solution would be ET0225

Hi! For a Lipo battery only needs a charger, anything more? Esc is supported?
Asked by Al on 27th January 2018

Correct you just need a LiPo charger and ensure the ESC is in LiPo mode.

Hi same question really about the ftx clot LiPo, I’m looking to upgrade to LiPo, how much longer will LiPo last? Will it be faster?
Asked by Christian Lewis on 8th May 2019

Yes, it'll be a bit faster and last a bit longer - usually around 25% faster and 25% longer runtime.

I up put the lipo battery in but the car got hot quick and could smell it was hot Iv seen on here you say about setting esc to lipo mode but nothing about this in the book and even the esc is different in the book to my one ? Needs updating I think ? So how do we know what to do
Asked by Simon on 29th December 2019

These are only supported with the brushless upgrade ESC and motor - the stock motor in the colt can't run these reliably I'm afraid.
