The NT1 chassis has been re-designed to fit the new 2-speed layshaft rear bulkheads inside the chassis, for better and more precise placement. An extra 2 holes for new motor mounts were added for improved chassis flex.
The chassis gives improved performance in corners and provides great stability. The very narrow chassis increases chassis flex, generates more traction & steering, prevents chassis contact during cornering, and helps to eliminate the car ‘stopping‘ in mid-corner.
The lightweight chassis is CNC-machined from premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum, strategically machined in low-stress areas to make it as light as possible without adversely affecting strength or rigidity. The area under the engine features air-flow cut-outs for extra cooling airflow.
The outer edges of the chassis have been beveled and screw holes are countersunk for a smooth lower surface. The chassis can accommodate graphite reinforcement inserts or additional balancing weights (front & rear) to tune chassis stiffness, balance, and CG.
Due the nature of the aluminum material and the machining process, it is normal that the chassis may be slightly bent in the longitudinal direction.
