Hi , I plan to do a brushless conversion on my Arrma typhon 4x4 mega 550 and I wondered if this combo will fit , is the motor shaft compatible etc . Thanks . John
Asked by John on 2nd January 2020

Yes these will fit and work well - however they do have a 5mm motor shaft, so you'll just need a new pinion with a 5mm shaft diameter.

Would this be a suitable upgrade for an ftx bugsta ( currently brushed), or would one of the other kv motors be better?? Thanks
Asked by Gavin on 29th February 2020

That would work well in the Bugsta

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Would this work on a slash 2wd converting from brushed ? I
Asked by Aaron on 9th April 2020

Yes, that would work.

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

How do I get a connector put on this?
Asked by Seb on 22nd May 2020

You can solder on your choice of connector

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Hi will this work as an upgrade for the summit 1/8 scale ? And would I need to change pinion gear if it does
Asked by Matt on 20th July 2020

No this is for a 1/10 car you need a 1/8 system due to the size and weight of the truck.

Answered by: Anthony @ Wheelspin Models

Hi what battery should I be get for this. Bit new to this thanks
Asked by Paul on 21st August 2020

A good 2S battery say VZ0317 or PEK00545 would work nicely

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Would this be a good upgrade to make my team associated DB10 faster currently running 2s
Asked by Jamie on 23rd August 2020

Yes that should work nicely in there

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Whats the minimum C rating for the esc?
Asked by Jack on 19th September 2020

It's not quoted.

120A would be a theoretical 11C at 3S - so let's say minimum 25C to be on the safe side

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

I have a stock 2wd Traxxas Raptor and zero experience with RC stuff. Is this a fairly easy swap for the stock system? Or do I need to solder stuff etc?
Asked by Matt on 30th September 2020

It's fairly straightforward to bolt the new motor in, but you would need to solder on your battery connectors onto the ESC

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Hi how would this compare if I switched it for the vxl system in my rustler
Asked by Charlie on 11th December 2020

I'd say it's comparable to your TRX Velinion 3S sytem

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Does this brushless motor require lipo batteries or are the normal NiMh batteries OK to use?
Asked by Mr Brendon J Moss on 14th December 2020

You can use either - but you will have better performance on LiPo

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Can I run this on 4s
Asked by Charlie on 15th December 2020

It would depend on your setup, but I'd advise 3S is probably your max on this

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Hi what programming card works with this
Asked by Charlie on 16th December 2020

The HW30502000 program card works with these

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

HW86020010 Does this work with this combo and what pinion will pair with a traxxas spur
Asked by Charlie on 17th December 2020

I believe it's the HW30502000 program card you need for this.

These are a 5.0mm shaft diameter on the motor, so it will just depend which Traxxas you have?

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Hi Would this combo take a 4s Lipo Regards Andy
Asked by Andy Spencer on 17th January 2021

3S would be recommended max on these

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Hi, I have an old(ish) ECX Ruckus truck (1/10, 2WD). It currently runs on the standard Spektrum ESC and 15T brushed motor and 7.2 or 8.4v NiMh batteries. Would this ESC and motor be a suitable alternative (maybe with a smaller pinion?) The current batteries are showing their age, and the motor sometimes gets very hot (one burnt out). Thanks Rich
Asked by Richard Morris on 9th February 2021

This would fit and work well - just bear in mind this motor has a 5mm shaft so you would need a new 5mm pinion

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Hi is this ok for a straight forward replacement for existing standard combo in my typhon 3s blx...thanks
Asked by Andrew on 26th February 2021

Yes that should work - just bear in mind these have a 5mm motor shaft though

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Hi, I would like to put this combo in my grandsons Slash 4x4, can I use a 2S 5500mah 50C lipo on this combo, thanks
Asked by Andrew on 10th November 2021

Yes this would be fine for that model of car.

Answered by: Anthony @ Wheelspin Models

Hi, would this be a suitable upgrade for Absima AB3.4 running on 3s lipo? Thanks.
Asked by Stuart Claridge on 2nd April 2022

You will struggle to get a pinion to fit the motor due to the 5mm motor shaft and the gearing pitch on that car.

You would be better looking at the normal version not the SCT version.  HW38010203

Answered by: Si @ Wheelspin Models

Would this be suitable for the traxxas hoss given it’s 10th scale
Asked by Michael on 3rd June 2022

No that is not a big enough motor , the one in the hoss is a 540 xl motor so is longer which adds more torque required for bigger trucks.

Answered by: Steve W @ Wheelspin Models

Can you use the hobbywing Ota Wi-Fi
Asked by Ashley on 17th September 2022

No this needs this one HW30502001

Answered by: Steve W @ Wheelspin Models

Will this be suitable for a brushless upgrade to my Vorteks Boost? I’ve preordered the transmission upgrade.
Asked by Mark on 13th October 2022

Yes that will be fine but you will need a pinion gear to suit.

Answered by: Steve W @ Wheelspin Models

Would this combo fit and be good for the FTX Ramraider
Asked by Christopher on 2nd February 2023

Yes that will fit but you will need a pinion 32 dp with a 5mm shaft on it and a xt90 to deans adaptor to use batteries with deans on them.
