Hi, Two simple questions
1. Do I assume that this model (RLKT081000) is in mode 2? The RLKT081001 is advertised as mode 1.
2. Do RL have a waterproof rx for boats or do you put the supplied in a plastic box? Regards Bob

Yes this one is mode 2.
They do not offer a waterproof receiver I'm afraid - but as you mention you can use waterproof boxes.

You could pair this to different receivers as required, but primarily this is designed for one model at a time operation.

Mode 1 is right hand throttle.

Yes, standard servo connectors so will work with pretty much any servo.

Not really - this is an aero radio so has movement in both directions on both sticks.
