About to place an order for the neo ST RTR model....does it come with any batteries in the truck at all

They do not ocme with batteries.
You can use AA's or the rechargeable hump packs.

What is the top speed on this truggy? Would I be better with the Picco Xl Version, or going for the standard kit and buying a more powerful engine? If the latter would you have any recommendations? Are parts available to buy or would I struggle to find them in stock?

Top speed isn't quoted but I'd estimate around 40mph.
The Picco XL version is a better/more powerful engine yes.

Do you know what size shim is used on the outside of bearing / clutch bell? I have the Neo ST picco XL but shim has shredded to bits and need to replace!!??
