This summer get ready to hit the water with the new Vortex fast electric r/c boat from FTX. With a range of up to 100m the Vortex is perfect for pools, ponds and even lakes. Featuring an attractive moulded hull with printed graphics, at 44cm long the Vortex is the ideal size for first time r/c boat enthusiasts.
A specially designed lower hull provides all important water cooling for the 380-sized motor, whilst should you capsize your boat a one-key roll function gets you back upright in seconds. Rear twin tabs help aide stability resulting in smooth turns as you drive back through your wake.
With an alarm sounding when the boats or transmitter batteries run low you should also avert being caught without power away from the shoreline!

I had problems with my first boat, which died early, but full marks to Wheespin who replaced it. When it ran, it did not leak at all, but that is not true of the replacement that ships more water thank like to see. The instructions say this is normal. Its not a happy boat. It leans well to the right in the water at full speed and as a result turns as well. It needs a horizontal tab on the back to fix this, or maybe a heavier battery. If it fails to bind first time, a not infrequent occurence, you usually have to start again, removing the battery first. It looks to be non user maintainable due to the use of glue or plastic welding, but I may be wrong there. I hope I never have to find out
Brought this boat 2 days ago and finally got to use it well my 5 year old son did , it's a cracking little boat , quit quick considering the price and fun aswell, I thing I noticed is when in full reverse small amounts of water enter the inside, this does not affect the servo etc , so reverse slowly and steady , apart from that it a smart boat

It would work yes, but we do advise not to use boats in the salt water, due to the salt water causing more corosion.
