With the Eggscaliber from Estes, you become Mission Control and have the responsibility of launching an astronaut (egg) to varying altitudes (up to and over 600 feet) and must then recover it without breakage. The 'eggstronaut' sits on a soft cushion in the clear egg-capsule, ready for those high-G launches! The Eggscaliber is great for science experiments!

This eggcellent Skill Level 2 kit includes a set of colourful self-adhesive decals that allow you to personalise your rocket however you like. Two preassembled parachutes (one 30.5, one 46cm) ensure a slow and gentle landing of the egg holder and main rocket.

Eggscaliber requires a launch system; (launch controller and launch pad), rocket motors, igniters and recovery wadding to operate. Also requires an Estes MaxiT Launch Rod (D-ES2244). Oh, and an egg, unbroken!

Also suitable for use with E9-4 and E9-6 rocket motors. E rocket motors require an E Launch Controller and E Launch Pad.

It says you need a different launch rod. Is that for all rocket engines? And can that just be replaced on a standard launch pad? (D-ES1403 - Riptide launch set)
Asked by Mark Dumbrell on 19th December 2017

Yes, you need the D-ES2244 maxi launch rod regardless of the engine used.  Yes, that rod will work on the normal launch pad
