FTX OUTBACK FURY/HI-ROCK ALLOY PORTAL AXLE CONVERSION SET

Take your FTX Hi-Rock or Fury crawler to a new level of scale with this new portal axle conversion kit. Creating an increase in distance between the axle housing and the ground for improved clearance, portal drives also feature a different drive ratio that improves the crawling perfor-mance over obstacles via each wheel.

Featuring all alloy axle housings, painted alloy diff covers, CNC ma-chined steering knuckles, front CVA driveshafts, CNC C-Hubs, CNC portal housing and CNC steering bar. Heavy duty hardened, drive gears are used throughout and all shafts are ball bearing supported. A Panhard bar finishes off the set.

This conversion can also be mounted on the Element Enduro platform if the steering bar is mounted at the front.

Would these fit an FTX outback? If not what would I have to do to make them fit?
Asked by Edward Phillips on 3rd April 2021

They are listed for the Outback Hi-Rock, Fury and Fury Xtreme

Is this just a conversion for the standard axles or are they complete portal axles ready to run ?
Asked by Callum on 27th April 2021

This is a complete set of axles - supplied as per image at

Would these fit the Outback 3 Paso?
Asked by Richard West on 11th June 2022

These won’t I’m afraid. I can’t remember the exact reason, but it has something to do with the rotation direction of the centre driveshafts and therefore the differentials. We’ve attempted to install these on a Paso ourselves, but unfortunately there is no way to modify the axles in a way so that they will fit.

Hi is this portal axle close to the same size as the Ftx outback 2 as I'm looking to upgrade thanks
Asked by Harry Graham on 14th May 2023

No these are very different, as they are for a full 1/10th car and the outback 2 is much smaller.
