Are these strong? Would you recommend for a crawler that gets bashed around?

They are fairly strong however if you crawler rolled they would likely come undone

Any particular glue you would recommend for attaching these to my body shell with? I was thinking maybe SHOE goo as I will be reinforcing the shell with that and dry wall tape anyway

Yes you would use glue or double sided tape, so Shoe Goo will be very good for this
