Yes, this has the usual manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing defects. As with all products, improper installation or user abuse are not covered.

Would this be a suitable brushless upgrade for my rustler xl-5? Also what budget lipo charger and battery do you recomend? And what type of performance should I expect to get with this set up and budget lipo with stock gearing?

It's a bit underpowered for a truck that size.
You'd be better looking at say ET0431

this will take up to a 3s lipo so this depends if you wanted to go lipo? and had a lipo charger? you could look at OL-3261 but would need a lipo charger with this.
