Are these the bits that come through the wheels allowing for nut secure

Hmm no, these are the bolts used top and bottom of the hub.
Sounds like you want stub axles maybe? Trophy truggy manual is at https://www.hpiracing.com/assets/manuals/pdf/101153.pdf
Stub axles would be with HPI-101182 for the front, or HPI-101181 on a truggy
