The iON XB shares the same spare parts list as the existing models for easy parts availability, plus the Maverick iON range has been updated with new-spec electronics! The Maverick iON kits lead the way with fantastic brand new top-spec features: a Maverick Element 1200mAh Ni-MH battery, MTX-248 2.GHz radio and a 2-in-1 waterproof MSRS-248 receiver/speed controller.

The motor fitted in the Maverick iON XB is the reliable MM-28 370-size motor, bolted to an aluminum motor mount for extra drivetrain durability and improved heat dissipation, so drivers can keep having fun for hours and hours! The 4WD drivetrain uses ball bearings throughout to give drivers maximum runtime and efficiency, and features a molded gear cover to keep dirt and debris away from the gears. Front and rear gear differentials easily transfer the motors power to durable driveshafts and finally to the grippy rubber wheels at all four corners.

The Maverick iON XB features a complete set of gold-colored shock caps for the oil-filled shock absorbers. These add an extra bit of color and style to the chassis, just to make it look that much cooler! The suspension also features dual-wishbone independent suspension front and rear, with reliable C-hub style front hubs and extra-strong single-piece rear hubs. The strong MS-28 servo controls the steering through a dual-point steering system that features and integrated servo saver to protect the servo against crash damage.

Finishing off every Maverick iON XB is and fully detailed, completely painted and stickered body with a design that not only looks amazing, it provides additional protection for the chassis components.

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

can a bigger capacity battery be used to increase runtime
Asked by Asif on 20th December 2016

The stock MV28103 is the biggest battery that will fit these. It should still give around 15 mins runtime and is reasonably priced, so you can have a couple of spares if you choose.

Hi Im after a rc car for my son he likes the petrol ones but are a bit pricey.. Can you recommend which one is the best To use on fields, sand and are robust? Thanks
Asked by Amy on 27th December 2016

There's certainly a lot to choose from. What's your budget and we'll be happy to advise?

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

My son has a maverick strada brought from your shop last year. He wants something more race looking is this the car for him?? Also will our batteries be compatible?
Asked by Andy Payne on 3rd January 2017

If you have a strada, then the Ion is quite a bit smaller, so no your batteries would not fit.

Why not look at the 1:10th Strada XB instead? MV12613 and then your batteries would be compatible.

Morning, Maverick Ion XB or FTX Vantage? I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks Tim
Asked by Tim Clement on 6th December 2018

Both are good cars, you wouldn't be disappointed with either.

However, putting budget aside - the Vantage is 1:10, so that gives you more options for places to run and easier to upgrade with standard size electronics.

That's quite a specific speed requirement, but for something faster you could look at say the FTX Vantage Brushless FTX5532
