The listing states uk version comes with a battery and charger, but then it also says you need to buy a battery and charger?

Different items - AB-12223UK comes with a battery and charger but is approximately another £20.
AB-12223 (no UK at the end of the part number) comes without a battery and charger, which is the better way of buying it as you can then choose your spec of battery + charger
