I am thinking of purchasing the Traxxas 6553 expander & GPS, but I have become confused over what sensors I would need (I know there is Temp - Battery - incline - motor speed etc) I run rock crawler but the Traxxas site shows two temp battery sensors which link to the same model I run, which are the ones required for the 6553 combo I am looking at. How do you install the telemetry expander 2.0 for the traxxas slash 4x4 if you have the aluminium shock towers & the traxxas heavy duty chassis brace already installed?
Asked by Robert Yeeles on 19th October 2020

I checked with Traxxas who advise: "The chassis brace eliminates the mounting point for the expander module. Unfortunately the only option at this point is to custom mount the expander if they’re running the chassis brace.  "

This will work on most Traxxas items with the TQI handset but may require other items.

I have a traxxas X maxx with the LED light kit already installed is there any way to mount this and the led kit at the same place, thanks
Asked by Andrew on 18th October 2022

Yes you can as the light kit plugs into the esc and this plugs into the receiver.

How do you mount the sensor to the esc and motor to check voltage and temperature ?
Asked by Ben on 23rd January 2023

The motor sensor just wraps round the motor and plugs in to the telemertry extender there is not a temp sensor for the ESC.  for the voltage you need to fit the voltage tap  TRX6549
