Tamiya Mazda 3 (TT-02)

This R/C model assembly kit depicts the MAZDA3, which was unveiled to the public at the 2018 LA Auto Show.Its elegant form is largely inspired by the Mazda Kai Concept car exhibited in 2017 at the Tokyo Motor Show. The flowing 5-door fastback body is recreated in lightweight and durable polycarbonate, with stickers recreating front grille, headlights, signature wing and more. Masking stickers are provided in the kit to aid with the paint job. This kit runs on the proven TT-02 chassis, which has a hard lower deck component molded in red. Tamiya logo stickers are also included.

TT-02: Adaptable, balanced shaft driven 4WD
The shaft-driven 4WD TT-02 chassis employs a longitudinal layout with the battery on the left and the motor on the right, to give excellent stability. In addition, it features identical left and right suspension arms and uprights for ease of assembly, plus easy-to-maintain gearboxes. It is a highly adaptable chassis, as it offers 2 different wheelbases, 2 ground clearance settings and 2 tread set-ups in addition to a range of 10 possible gear ratios. It is not short on looks either, with brake disc-shaped wheel hubs and stylish front bumper supports. 10-spoke wheels are paired with tread-patterned racing radial tires.

- The distinctive, flowing body is recreated with aplomb. Stickers are used to accurately recreate details such as taillights and emblem.


- This closeup on the nose of the model shows sticker-depicted front grille, signature wing, and headlights, which give an authentic look.


- Side mirrors are separately molded parts for excellent realism. They are finished using multiple Tamiya Color paints and stickers.

- Gun metal color 10-spoke wheels provide a classy accent. They are paired with tread-patterned racing radial tires for great performance.


- This overhead view of the TT-02 chassis shows the ergonomic design and well-balanced layout. The lower deck is molded in a striking red.


- Molded 4-bevel differential gears ensure that the model offers smooth drive and cornering. The upper section can be removed with minimal fuss.


- Left: Resin ball links in the steering linkage joints make for smooth, comfortable motion.

- Right: Left: A case is included to keep the all-important receiver protected from dust and dirt.
