The S1100 AC Smart Charger quickly replenishes batteries with its impressive 100W power output. It also provides balancing and peak detection capabilities, and includes thermal, reverse polarity, short circuit, over current, and low input voltage protections. The charger's large, 2.4-inch color LCD display makes it easy to read charging parameters and Smart battery data from any angle. An upgraded touch wheel user interface simplifies menu navigation.

When using the S1100 AC Smart Charger to charge a Spektrum Smart battery, the battery's type, cell count, charge current rate, and capacity are all set automatically. The charging process is simple: Just plug in your Smart battery. The correct charging parameters are sent from the battery's microchip memory through the IC3™ connector's data wire to the charger. The S1100 AC Smart Charger begins correct, safe charging automatically following the battery's built-in parameters. Because the charger is backwards-compatible with older EC3™ connectors, you can charge non-Smart batteries like you usually would.

Spektrum S1100 AC Smart Charger firmware is updatable by connecting the charger to your PC through the USB port. Measuring a compact 4.4" long x 4.6" wide x 2.5" high (122 x 118 x 63 mm), the unit is easily portable and fits even on crowded workbenches.

The S1100 AC Smart Charger's upgraded touch wheel interface lets you navigate through Smart battery data menus or change and save charging parameters with just the touch of your finger. All information is displayed on a large, 2.4-inch color LCD screen that's easy to read from any angle — even in bright sunlight. While a charge is in progress, the main screen shows the charged percent, battery data, charge rate, capacity charged and charge time remaining. Additional cell voltage information and the battery's internal resistance can be viewed by scrolling to the second and third screens.

When connected to a Spektrum™ Smart Battery, unique parameters and health of your LiPo battery upload from the Smart memory microchip integrated into the battery. Through the charger, you can set and record preferred settings, such as charge rates and self-discharge options, so that all you have to do to charge the pack is press the "Start" button. Smart technology will take care of the rest.

When charging a Spektrum Smart Battery, the battery parameters are set automatically and the charger will begin charging automatically when the battery is connected to the charger. Charge rate of individual batteries can be user-customized, allowing you to take full advantage of packs with faster charge ratings. The integrated microchip on each battery will remember the last charging rate you set, so the next time you plug it in, these settings will automatically populate.

The innovative Smart connection is made possible by an installed microchip on every battery, feeding the unique information through a data cable to the IC3 and IC5 connectors. The IC series of connectors are designed from the ground up to provide a more solid connection, higher heat resistance, and effortless installation. Sprung bullets ensure a solid connection that is easy to connect and disconnect, while the convenient solder pads allow for easy installation on your device.

For those using the popular EC3™ and EC5™ connectors, there's no need to worry. The IC connector series is entirely backwards compatible with existing connectors so you can use your Smart Charger with older batteries, but only when connected to a Spektrum™ Smart Battery are all the benefits of Smart technology obvious.

A clean and intuitive touch wheel interface makes it easy to navigate all of the settings on your S1100 AC Smart Charger. Slide your finger clockwise on the wheel to scroll down a menu list. Slide counter-clockwise to scroll up. Select an item by pressing and releasing the wheel's center button. Press and hold the button to access charger settings for non-Smart batteries. This clean and simple user interface gives the charger a sleek profile that's perfect for tossing in your field bag.
