That is a receiver plug which is sometimes called a futaba plug.

Would this pack be suitable as a receiver pack on an HPI savage X? If not then could you recommend one, I plan on using the HPI switch too, thanks.

It would work with any car, so long as you either have HV servos or a voltage regulator.

You'd need to check dimensions on your Savage X battery box however as thy are notoriously tight
