  • HCS support; per-channel HCS switching from the transmitter.
  • 4-channel PWM/Serial control, 2.4GHz operation, 50 model memories.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: 240.5 × 163.0 × 107.2 mm (excluding protrusions)
  • Weight: 551 g (battery not included)
  • Power supply: 4 × AAA dry cells, 4 × Ni-MH; 2S Li-Fe 6.6V*; 2S Li-Po 7.4V* (batteries sold separately)
  • Current: 200 mA or less
  • Channels: 4ch (PWM/Serial)
  • Frequency: 2.4GHz
  • Radio mode: XT
  • Model memory: 50
  • Default settings: RF Mode – XT Telemetry; Response – NORMAL

Operating Modes

  • XT Advanced Mode: For maximum speed and resolution. For best results, use with serial-compatible 4S servos or HCS-compliant RSx3/BSx3 series. General servos may have reduced operating angle at this speed.
  • XT Telemetry Mode: Two-way communication with faster response than EX-RR, enabling REAL TIME ICS when a 4S servo is connected to the KR-242XT B/S port.
  • Note: The included KR-242XT supports XT Telemetry. XT Advanced Mode requires a KR-420XT receiver (sold separately).

Suggested Compatibility

  • Receivers: KR-420XT, KR-242XT, MINI-Z EVO 2 receiver unit for KO compatible transmitter, MINI-Z EVO Receiver Unit EX-NEXT MC-8.
  • Servos: RSx4S / BSx4S (serial); RSx3 / BSx3 series when using HCS.

Notes

  • *When using Li-Fe or Li-Po, use with KO Propo Battery Stand Unit.
  • *LCD Xpansion Unit EXP-104 series not supported.
  • *Not for FHSS or DSSS receivers (e.g., KR-418FH, KR-415FHD, KR-210S).
  • *Batteries are sold separately.
  • *Images may show prototypes; production models may differ.

Basic Model with a Simple Configuration
This is the basic model of the "EX-NEXT" series, which features ultra-high-speed response enabled by XT technology. By minimizing exterior decoration, we have successfully reduced costs, allowing us to offer this renewed version at a more affordable price. The specifications and functions of the unit remain unchanged, so you can enjoy the high-end performance with ease.

Equipped with a new standard "XT" that achieves the fastest communication speed in the industry.
EX-NEXT features the newly implemented “XT” system, an evolution beyond the conventional “FHSS.” You can choose between “XT Advanced Mode” for ultra-high-speed response and “XT Telemetry Mode” for bi-directional communication (telemetry) support.

XT Advanced Mode
EX-NEXT has been newly developed with a complete redesign of both its control and communication systems from the ground up. It achieves industry-leading communication speed and ultra-high-resolution precision. In its fastest response mode, "XT Advanced Mode," EX-NEXT delivers approximately three times the communication speed compared to the EX-RR. This performance surpasses even the previously fastest HCS mode.

High-speed communication in the XT advanced mode improves the information density that will be sent to the receivers.
You will feel a "Fine and smooth maneuvering feeling" by unprecedented high-definition and high-resolution control when operating.

*When using the ultra-high-speed XT Advanced Mode, please combine it with either serial-compatible servo “4S” or HCS-compliant "RSx3/BSx3" series servos. Due to the extremely fast communication cycle of the XT Advanced Mode, general servos might experience limitations in their operating angles.

*Although the EX-NEXT main unit is equipped with XT Advanced Mode, the included KR-242XT is for XT Telemetry only. To use XT Advanced Mode, please prepare a separate KR-420XT.

XT Telemetry mode
EX-NEXT is equipped with telemetry (bi-directional communication) functionality. By connecting a serial-compatible “4S” servo to the B/S port of the KR-242XT, “REAL TIME ICS” becomes available. This allows you to adjust servo parameters directly from the transmitter without needing to retrieve the machine. Now you can achieve more refined and uncompromising setups with greater freedom than ever before.

Also, even using the XT Telemetry mode that is 2-way communication, the High-speed response is still faster thanthe EX-RR.

High speed supported by Serial servo.
Currently mainstream servo control method is performed by PWM control. PWM control method uses pulse width to send position of servos output from receiver. Serial control method uses a digital signal value to send the position of the servo output. So, communication speed of the Serial control method will be significantly faster than a PWM control method, time ofthe servo’s action from your operation input is shorter. Operating feeling will be ultra high speed like operating thecar directly.

<Compatible servos> RSx4S / BSx4S Series
*Servo is sold separately.

*Although the EX-NEXT main unit is equipped with XT Advanced Mode, the included KR-242XT is for XT Telemetry only. To use XT Advanced Mode, please prepare a separate KR-420XT.

Supported HCS.
EX-NEXT & KR-242XT support the use of HCS that was adopted from the RSx3, BSx3 series. Until now, it was necessary to change the receiver mode using the settingdevice, but with EX-NEXT this can be changed from the transmitter for each channel. HCS compatible servos are automatically change to HCS mode when the received signal is HCS. If you want use HCS, please connect servos to 1-4ch ofthe KR-242XT.
