Mission Models Polyurethane Intermix (MMPA001) is a clear, acrylic, non‑solvent additive designed to enhance Mission Models paints. Add just one or two drops after reducing with MMP Thinner to improve flow through the airbrush, extend blending time for brush work, increase durability, and promote smooth self‑levelling with a subtle eggshell finish that’s ideal for washes.

Key Features

  • Acrylic, non‑solvent, automotive‑grade additive
  • Enhances airbrush flow and reduces tip dry
  • Improves adhesion, self‑levelling and flexibility
  • Increases durability for a tougher finish
  • Leaves a slight eggshell sheen suitable for washes

Usage Guidance

  • After reducing with MMP Thinner, add 1–2 drops of Polyurethane Intermix. Less is more.
  • Sample ratio: 20–30% MMP Thinner to 2 parts paint (e.g. 2–3 drops thinner to 20 drops paint) plus 2 drops Poly.
  • Do not mix 50/50. MMP Thinner is powerful; reduced paint may appear thicker in the cup but will dry smooth and thin.
  • PSI: 10, 15 or 20 depending on your needs.
  • Tip: add 1–2 drops when spraying straight from the bottle to further reduce tip dry.
  • If too much Poly is added, the paint may bead or pull from raised details; allow it to dry and self‑level.

Tech Specs

  • Size: 2oz
  • Colour: Clear
  • Shipping Weight: 0.09kg (0.19lbs)

After reducing your paint with MMP Thinner add one or two drops of MMP Polyurethane. Less is more. MMP Poly will increase flow from the airbrush, slower drying times, added blending times for fine brush painting, durability and increased levelling properties. In addition you will find a durable finish with a slight eggshell finish which is perfect for washes eliminating the need for further clear coating.

If you add too much Poly to your paint you will find that your paint will pull from the surface and away from raised details, beading etc. If by chance you add too much Poly be patient. It will dry and auto level.

MMP Paint is very easy to use. We recommend thinning to the following ratio for the best performance. For best performance please follow MMP carefully researched ratios.

DO NOT MIX 50/50. MMP thinner is very powerful and only the smallest amount of thinner is needed. In the mixing cup your reduced paint will appear thicker than what you may be used to. This is normal. MMP paint will dry smooth, thin and level. It will not hide the finest of details. Mixed properly you will find a beautiful opaque finish which requires minimal coats.

A sample mixing ratio: 20 to 30% MMP thinner to 2 parts paint ( 2 or 3 drops thinner to 20 drops paint plus 2 drops of Poly. Typically 1 part equals 10 drops.

PSI 10, 15, 20 depending on your needs.

TIP: add one or two drops of MMP Polyurethane Intermix for additional reduced tip dry when spraying straight from the bottle. MMP Poly increases flow, lowers drying times, added leveling, increased blending when brush painting, durability and adds a slight eggshell finish. As modelers we highly recommend this as an option.
