Flex Settings
- Soft: No bushing or bearing — maximum flex and steering; less on‑power stability.
- Soft‑Medium: Connect via ball bearing — slightly less steering, improved stability.
- Medium: Connect via special screw M3x5.5mm behind the layshaft — slightly less steering, improved stability.
- Stiff: Connect via special screws M3x5.5mm behind and in front of the layshaft — maximum stability and improved steering response.
As the 1.6mm top deck is more fragile, XRay suggests using the stiff setting for better durability.

The thinner 1.6mm graphite top deck is recommended for use in low- to medium-traction conditions with the aluminium chassis and for modified class. The graphite top deck features milled holes for special tweak-free top deck screws.
Machined from 1.6mm graphite material, the shape of the top deck has been specifically designed to achieve maximum traction and great steering characteristics at the same time.
The unique top deck flex settings allows easy adjustment of the flex between 4 different characteristics.
The top deck can be connected to the motor mount using these alternatives:
1.) Soft setting - No bushing or bearing is used. This allows maximum flex and provides maximum steering. However, the car is less stable on-power.
2.) Soft-medium setting - The top deck is connected to the motor mount via ball bearing. This setting eliminates a bit of steering but improves stability.
3.) Medium setting - The top deck is connected to the motor mount via special screw M3x5.5mm behind layshaft. This setting eliminates a bit of steering but improves stability.
4.) Stiff setting - The top deck is connected to the motor mount via special screws M3x5.5mm behind and in front of layshaft. This setting provides maximum stability. And also improves steering response.
As the 1.6mm top deck is more fragile, we suggest to use stiff setting for better durability.
