Wheelspin Raceway Health And Safety Policy
Wheelspin Raceway is designed to be a fun environment, but to ensure everyone's safety we need to ensure everyone can enjoy racing safely. Please read and understand the following points and agree to abide by them before continuing with your booking.
Vehicle Requirements
- This is a race facility for race vehicles. All cars should be clean and in a race-ready condition.
- Shock protectors must be used to prevent damage to the race carpet
- Chassis undersides should be smooth with no sharp edges or protruding screws.
- Bodyshells must be fitted and in good condition with no sharp edges.
Battery Charging
- Batteries must only be charged in a suitable LiPo safe pouch or preferably a Bat-Safe
- Batteries and chargers must sit in clear view on the designated charging shelf in your pit area.
- Batteries and chargers should be in good order - no swollen or otherwise damaged/potentially damaged cells to be used.
- Balance leads must be used.
Building & Fire Safety
- The raceway is on the first floor and there is no lift access. Please ensure you are comfortable using stairs particularly in the event of an emergency.
- There are signed fire exits both at the front and back of the pit area. In the event of a fire please exit in a controlled manner through your nearest safe exit.
- The fire assembly point is Unit 10's far car park. Raceway staff will help direct you in the case of emergency.
- Each pit bench is equipped with an easy to use LifeSafe fire extinguisher. In the unlikely event of a fire and only if it is safe to do so, please remove the cap and spray towards the flames.
Marshalling
- All drivers are required to marshall after their race at the allocated marshall posts
- All marshalls must wear a hi-viz jacket on their marshalling post (we have a selection available)
- Only retrieve a stranded car when it is safe to do so. You are making a decision to enter a race track and do so at your own risk.
Etiquette and Behaviour
- This is a family friendly facility and all drivers should treat one another with respect and common courtesy
- Abuse towards staff or other drivers will not be tolerated and will result in immediate expulsion.
- Please use the bins provided and leave your pit bench tidy. Please empty any liquids down the sinks before disposing of drinks containers in the bins.
Race Format
- At the start of race, please place your car on the track behind race control. No warm up laps please as marshalls will be walking to their posts.
- At the end of your race:
- Pull off into the marked area towards the left of the rostrum
- Exit the rostrum only when all drivers have finished, using the 'down' stairs
- Retrieve your car and place it on the shelves before heading straight out to marshall
