Tamiya Lexan Spray Paint – PS-36 Translucent Silver (HC-86036) is a 100ml aerosol formulated specifically for transparent polycarbonate (Lexan) R/C car bodies. Designed for painting from the inside of the shell, it cures to a durable finish that resists oil and fuels, making it suitable for nitro and gas-powered applications.
Paint Usage for Polycarbonate Bodies
- Apply from the inside of the body shell at approximately 30cm distance.
- Build up light, even coats and allow each coat to cure before applying the next.
- 100ml is the typical quantity for completing one standard body.
Translucent Silver Applications
- Creates a translucent, frosted metallic look on clear polycarbonate.
- Back PS-36 with normal colours to achieve a shiny metallic finish.
- For layered effects with other translucent colours, pairing them with Bright Silver can produce a deep mica-style appearance.

- For polycarbonate (Lexan) bodies only. Do not use on standard plastic model kits.

These spray paints were developed especially for decorating transparent polycarbonate bodies used in R/C car modeling. Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is the appropriate amount for finishing one complete model.
Painting polycarbonate bodies is done from the inside of the body shell as opposed to the outside of a traditional plastic model. When spraying body from the inside, keep the can about 30cm from the surface. After curing apply another coat as necessary. These paints are impervious to oil and fuels, so they can be safely used on gas-powered R/C bodies.
Translucent colors: Paints designed to achieve translucent frosted glass look on polycarbonate bodies. Use translucent Red, Blue, Light Blue, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Green and Purple in combination with Bright Silver to achieve deep mica color effect. Use Translucent Silver in combination with normal colors for a shiny metallic color finish.
Warning: Never use these paints on plastic models.
