Tamiya PS-43 Translucent Orange is a specialist spray paint for transparent polycarbonate (Lexan) RC car bodies. Supplied in a 100ml can, it is formulated to finish one complete model and deliver a distinctive translucent, frosted-glass effect. Part number HC-86043.
How To Use on Polycarbonate Bodies
- Paint the inside of the clear body shell, not the exterior.
- Hold the can roughly 30 cm from the surface while spraying.
- Allow each coat to cure before applying additional layers.
- Each 100ml can is suitable for completing one model, depending on body size and coverage.
Translucent Colour Effects
- Creates a translucent, frosted look on clear polycarbonate.
- Combine PS-43 Translucent Orange with Bright Silver to achieve a deep mica colour effect.
- Use Translucent Silver in combination with standard colours to produce a shiny metallic finish.
Important Notes
- Impervious to oil and fuels, making it suitable for gas-powered RC bodies.
- For polycarbonate only. Do not use on traditional plastic model kits.

These spray paints were developed especially for decorating transparent polycarbonate bodies used in R/C car modeling. Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is the appropriate amount for finishing one complete model.
Painting polycarbonate bodies is done from the inside of the body shell as opposed to the outside of a traditional plastic model. When spraying body from the inside, keep the can about 30cm from the surface. After curing apply another coat as necessary. These paints are impervious to oil and fuels, so they can be safely used on gas-powered R/C bodies.
Translucent colors: Paints designed to achieve translucent frosted glass look on polycarbonate bodies. Use translucent Red, Blue, Light Blue, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Green and Purple in combination with Bright Silver to achieve deep mica color effect. Use Translucent Silver in combination with normal colors for a shiny metallic color finish.
Warning: Never use these paints on plastic models.
