FTX DR8
I belive the stock pinion is 12t? Would a 14t make much difference to performace on 4S?
Are temperature issues a problem with more teeth? I don't get any temp issues on12t.
Should I increase the punch settings to account for more teeth?

It will give slightly more top end speed but off road could cause more heat , you would just keep checking the temps to ensure it does not overheat.
