Tamiya Lexan Spray Paint PS-57 Pearl White (HC-86057) is a 100ml polycarbonate paint formulated for R/C car body shells, delivering a chic pearlescent white finish. The paint is impervious to oil and fuels, so it is suitable for gas-powered models.

Painting Guidance

Apply to the inside of a clear polycarbonate body shell. Hold the can approximately 30cm from the surface and allow each coat to cure before applying additional coats. One 100ml can is generally appropriate for finishing a complete model.

Pearl Colour Tips

  • PS-57 reproduces a pearl white effect and should be backed with white.
  • For custom pearlescent colours, use PS-58 Pearl Clear first, then spray the desired colour.
  • Warning: Do not use on traditional plastic models.

These spray paints were developed especially for decorating transparent polycarbonate bodies used in R/C car modeling. Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is the appropriate amount for finishing one complete model.

Painting polycarbonate bodies is done from the inside of the body shell as opposed to the outside of a traditional plastic model. When spraying body from the inside, keep the can about 30cm from the surface. After curing apply another coat as necessary. These paints are impervious to oil and fuels, so they can be safely used on gas-powered R/C bodies.

Pearl Colors: These paints enable a chic pearl effect finish on your polycarbonate body. PS57 reproduces pearl white. Use PS58 Pearl Clear in combination with normal colors to achieve your desired pearl color effects. PS57 should be backed up with white. PS58 should be applied first before spraying the desired color that you wish to turn into a pearlescent effect.

Warning: Never use these paints on plastic models.
