The ICM AC-40-137A Soviet Firetruck in 1:35 scale captures the distinctive fire-fighting variant of the ZiL-131, the all-road Soviet Army truck widely used through the 1970s and 1980s. Modified by the Pryluky fire-fighting equipment plant from 1984, the AC-40-137A featured an increased tank capacity and in-cab control of the fire monitor, and examples continue to serve across former USSR countries. This plastic model kit (ICM part HC-ICM35519) delivers a highly detailed build for enthusiasts of Soviet vehicles, fire apparatus and military trucks.

Centred on the rugged ZiL-131 platform, this kit provides fine detail from the engine bay to the running gear, complemented by period markings from multiple cities. With clear assembly instructions and quality moulding, it is a compelling project for modellers seeking an accurate representation of a Soviet-era fire engine in 1:35 scale.

The ZiL-131 was the main all-road Soviet Army truck of the 1970s and 1980s. Its serial production began in 1967 and featured high reliability and all-road ability. The basic model was used mainly as personnel transport or as a 5-ton capacity cargo truck. These trucks were supplied to Warsaw Pact countries and also to many Asian and African countries.

There were many ZiL-131 modifications for the Soviet Army and civilian use. One of them was a fire truck. The AC-40-137A modification was carried out by the Pryluky fire-fighting equipment plant from 1984 onwards. It was distinguished by a tank volume increased by 100 litres and control of the fire monitor from the cabin. Trucks of this type are still commonly used in fire departments of the countries of the former USSR.
