The Admiral luxury passenger car was the top model of Opel's pre-war range, combining increased comfort with a powerful engine. Between February 1938 and October 1939 only 6,404 were produced. Following the outbreak of WWII, most were requisitioned and used as personal transport by senior officers of the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe, serving on both Western and Eastern fronts to the war's end. Over 2,000 Admirals left the factory as open-top cabriolets, making this an iconic period vehicle.
