Description
The Atlantis Models USS Brooke DDG-1 is a 1:311 scale plastic model kit, part AMCM8295, depicting the guided missile destroyer escort USS Brooke. The ship was designed to protect amphibious forces, patrol coastal waters and defend military convoys from hostile submarines. Its armament included Tartar guided missiles, ASROC anti-submarine rockets, anti-submarine torpedoes and a 5-inch gun, supported by sonar and a Seasprite anti-submarine helicopter.
This kit represents the ship in a compact display scale and includes a 16-inch one-piece hull. The model is moulded in light grey plastic and uses waterslide decals. It is intended for assembly and display by model makers and hobbyists, with paints sold separately. The recommended age is 14 years and over because the kit contains small parts.
Features
The completed model provides several details associated with the USS Brooke, including the helicopter, guns and missile launcher with radar finders. The rotating components add movement to the finished display model, while the supplied stand provides a way to present the assembled ship.
