ICM B-26B Marauder 1:48 Model Kit HC-ICM48322

The ICM B-26B Marauder with USAAF Pilots and Ground Personnel 1:48 plastic model kit, part number HC-ICM48322, recreates the American bomber in a detailed scale assembly kit. It includes representations of the aircraft, USAAF pilots and ground personnel, combining the aircraft subject with figures for a fuller display scene.

The B-26 Marauder first flew as a prototype on 25 November 1940 and entered service with the U.S. Air Force in February 1941. The design was revised throughout its service life, with the B-26B-55-MA being the latest modification produced until February 1944. Marauders operated in Europe from bases in Britain and later from the mainland, taking part in bombing raids against coastal batteries, bridges, railway junctions and other targets.

This ICM kit focuses on the B-26B variant associated with the U.S. operations during the Normandy campaign. On D-Day, 6 June 1944, B-26B Marauders of the 9th U.S. Air Force took part in the raids supporting the Allied landing, with further attacks continuing in the following days. The historical setting gives the finished model a clear period context, whether displayed as an aircraft study or alongside its included personnel.

Kit Features

The parts are supplied on detailed sprues made from plastic, with accurate moulded components for assembly. A set of detailed assembly instructions is included to guide construction. With 398 parts, the kit provides a substantial project for modellers interested in the B-26 Marauder and Second World War aviation.
