ICM’s 1:48 Bristol Beaufort Mk.IA with tropical filter (HC-ICM48311) portrays the RAF Coastal Command torpedo bomber as it served from late 1939, notably across the Mediterranean and North Africa. The Mk.IA introduced a revised turret similar to that on the Bristol Blenheim, and many aircraft were equipped with ASV radar to aid in the search for surface targets. Operations in high temperatures led to modified carburettor air intakes, reflected here with the tropical filter configuration. The kit emphasises accuracy and period-correct options to depict these theatre-specific machines.
The set includes ASV radar antennas, alternative machine-gun armament arrangements, and a torpedo with handling trolley, complemented by a four-option decal sheet. With finely moulded parts in quality plastic and detailed assembly instructions, the finished model captures the distinctive lines of the Beaufort in 1:48 scale.

The Mk.IA modification had a new machine gun turret, similar to the one installed on the Bristol Blenheim bomber. Also, ASV radars began to be installed on torpedo bombers, which were used to search for surface targets.
This aircraft was in combat in the Mediterranean Sea and North Africa. Here their targets were convoys of transport ships and warships of the Axis countries. Operation in high temperature conditions also led to the use of modified carburetor air intakes on Bristol Beaufort engines.
