ICM Do 17Z-10 WWII German Night Fighter HC-ICM72303

The ICM Do 17Z-10 - WWII German Night Fighter, part number HC-ICM72303, is a 1:72 scale plastic model kit of the twin-engine German aircraft. The Do 17 was designed by Dornier Flugzeugwerke in the early 1930s as a high-speed bomber intended to outpace contemporary fighters. From 1939, the Do 17Z version used a Waffenkopf-type nose and air-cooled Bramo 323 Fafnir engines.

Only nine Do 17Z-10 Kauz II night fighters were produced in 1940. Each was fitted with a Spanner-Anlage infrared night vision device, and these aircraft served with the 11/NJG 1 night fighter unit until early 1941. This kit recreates that specialised aircraft in 1:72 scale, with 155 parts and detailed plastic sprues for assembly. Detailed instructions are included to guide construction.

The kit includes markings representing two aircraft associated with the German night fighter force. These cover a Do 17Z-10 of I/NJG2 at Gilze-Rijen in October 1940, and the aircraft of Staffelkapitän 2./NJG2 Hptm. Erich Jung at Gilze-Rijen in autumn 1940.
