Description

The ICM Do 215B-4 WWII Reconnaissance Plane, part number HC-ICM72305, is a 1:72 scale plastic aircraft model kit. It represents the Do 215B-4, a reconnaissance version of the twin-engine Dornier aircraft developed from the Do 17 bomber design.

The Do 215 was produced from early 1940 with liquid-cooled DB 601A engines. Do 215B-4 reconnaissance aircraft were fitted with two long-range photo cameras and operated in France and on the Soviet-German front. Four of these aircraft were supplied to the Hungarian Air Force in 1942, giving the kit a range of historical marking subjects.

Kit Features

The kit contains 190 parts for assembly as a 1:72 scale Do 215B-4. The parts are supplied on detailed plastic sprues, and detailed assembly instructions are included to guide construction. The completed model measures 220 mm in length and 250 mm in width.

Specifications

In the beginning of the 1930s, there was a desire for a high-speed bomber that could outpace contemporary fighter planes. One plane to come to fruition from this desire was the twin-engine bomber Do 17 designed and produced by German company Dornier Flugzeugwerke. From early 1940 a series of 105 Do 215B planes were produced with liquid-cooled DB 601A engines. The Do 215B-4 reconnaissance planes were fitted with two long-range photo cameras and served in France and the Soviet-German front. In 1942 four of these planes were supplied to the Hungarian Air Force.
