ICM Do 217M-1 WWII RAF Bomber Model Kit HC-ICM48276

The ICM Do 217M-1 - WWII RAF Bomber (HC-ICM48276) is a 1:48 scale plastic aircraft model kit depicting a German bomber captured by Allied forces and later operated with RAF markings. The subject is the Do 217M-1, a variant powered by DB 603A engines and four-blade propellers. These changes raised the aircraft’s maximum speed to 557 km/h, although its range was reduced.

This unusual aircraft served with Luftwaffe bomber and reconnaissance squadrons until the end of the Second World War. In spring 1945, one example was captured at Beldringe in Denmark, given RAF identification markings and flown to Schleswig. It later moved to Farnborough in Great Britain, where it made its first test flight on 18 October 1945 before taking part in a demonstration flight with other captured Luftwaffe aircraft on 4 November.
