The Excel Double Ended Chuck and Safety Cap (Hobby Awl, 3 Burnisher Tips, #11 Blade) (Carded), part number EXL30610, is a double-ended hobby tool combining an awl and stylus side with a knife side. It is supplied on a card with a #11 blade, three burnisher tips and a shatter-resistant safety cap.
The pointed awl or air-release tip can be used for paper embossing, scoring leather, book binding, shaping fondant and moulding clay. The stylus side accepts replaceable tips, including two straight burnishing sizes and a curved tip, while the pointed needle tip can be used where a fine point is required. These functions make the tool suitable for craft and model-making tasks such as scoring, trimming, stripping and shaping materials.
The knife side uses a K1 aluminium handle and is supplied with a #11 blade. Suggested compatibility for the handle side includes Excel blade numbers 5, 6, 10, 11, 21, 12, 13, 16, 17 and 17A. The tool can be used with paper, foam core, plastic, wood, cloth and film, and is also suitable for clay carving and pumpkin carving. This Excel tool is made in the USA.
