This ICM 1:35 scale kit recreates the FCM 36 light tank as used by German forces following the 1940 campaign in France. After capture, around 50 FCM 36 vehicles were pressed into Wehrmacht service for combat, training and later conversion into self-propelled guns and howitzers. The subject offers distinctive French design lines combined with unique German service markings, making it an appealing World War II armour project.

ICM’s HC-ICM35337 provides a precise, well-engineered plastic model with highly detailed sprues, clear assembly guidance, and a versatile decal sheet covering three schemes from 1940. With an accurate overall silhouette and fine surface detail, it is a solid choice for modellers interested in French armour in German hands.

After the defeat of France in the summer of 1940, many French armoured vehicles fell into the hands of the Wehrmacht with lots of them being captured in perfect condition. The German army later used them in various combat operations, and also used them as auxiliary and training vehicles.

Among the captured military vehicles were the FCM 36 tanks, which were previously part of two French tank battalions. Before the defeat of France, they managed to take part in several combat skirmishes in the spring and summer of 1940. The total number of these combat vehicles received by the Wehrmacht numbered around 50. Later, many of them became the basis for the creation of self-propelled anti-tank guns and self-propelled howitzers.
