Futaba's engine management system GV-1 has caused quite a stir among the leading helicopter pilots who are using it. The reason for this is that the GV-1 Governor is not just a CSU (Constant Speed Unit), it also has a 9 point curve mixture control program, battery failsafe and a host of other functions. The GV-1 Monitors engine rpm, as opposed to main gear or rotor head speed, maintaining the engine rpm within 1% of its preset rpm. The GV-1 Control Amp has an 8 character LCD display with adjustable contrast, the Data Edit keys being set just below the display on the front panel. Scroll through software simplifies function setting. The GV-1 can also be used to display individually the engine rpm, rotor speed and battery voltage as well as all the other function set-ups.
