The Heinkel He 111 emerged from 1930s ambitions for a fast bomber capable of outpacing contemporary fighters. The H-6 variant, introduced from May 1941, featured liquid-cooled Jumo 211F-2 engines with increased power, VS-11 propellers and strengthened armament. It could carry an SC 1800 kg bomb or two LT F5b torpedoes externally. As the most numerous He 111 variant produced up to the end of 1942 (around 1,800 aircraft), the H-6 served on all fronts in roles including level bomber, torpedo bomber, reconnaissance, transport and mine layer.

This 1:48 scale ICM kit (HC-ICM48262) delivers an accurate replica of the He 111H-6 with finely rendered surface detail. Highly detailed engines and a well-appointed cockpit interior are complemented by a four-version decal sheet. The kit comprises 325 parts, with a wingspan of 471 mm and a length of 344 mm. Quality plastic sprues and clear, detailed assembly instructions support a precise and rewarding build.

In the beginning of the 1930s, there was a desire for a high-speed bomber that could outpace contemporary fighter planes. One plane to come to fruition from this desire was the twin-engine bomber He 111 designed and produced by German company Heinkel Flugzeugwerke AG. From May 1941, they produced He 111H-6 planes with liquid-cooled Jumo 211F-2 engines with increased power, VS-11 propellers and more powerful armaments. This variant could carry SC 1800kg bombs or two LT F5b torpedoes externally. The He 111H-6 was the most popular variant of Heinkel’s medium bomber with approximately 1800 aircraft produced up to the end of 1942. He 111H-6s saw service on all fronts as level bombers, torpedo bombers, reconnaissance aircraft, transports, and mine layers.
