Description
The ICM Heinkel He 51A-1 German Biplane Fighter HC-ICM72193 is a 1:72 scale plastic model kit representing the German biplane fighter. The Heinkel He 51 was the first serial fighter of the German Luftwaffe, with the first He 51a prototype designed by the Gunter brothers and flown in the summer of 1933.
Production of the He 51A-1 began in 1935. The later He 51B-1 modification included provision for a drop tank, while the He 51B-2 was developed as a seaplane with two floats. A total of 135 He 51 aircraft were shipped to Spain for use by the Legion Condor and Spanish Nationalists as fighters and fighter-bombers. The type was also flown by future aces including A. Galland, H. Harder and H. Trautloft.
