Description

The ICM Heinkel He 51B-2 German Floatplane Fighter (HC-ICM72192) is a 1:72 scale plastic model kit containing 61 parts and detailed assembly instructions. It represents the Heinkel He 51B-2, a seaplane fighter fitted with two floats for operation from the water.

The Heinkel He 51 was the first serial fighter of the German Luftwaffe. Designed by the Gunter brothers, the first He 51a prototype flew in the summer of 1933, followed by production of the He 51A-1 in 1935. The He 51B-1 modification introduced provision for a drop tank and entered production in 1936. A total of 135 He 51 aircraft were sent to Spain, where they served with the Legion Condor and Spanish Nationalists as fighters and fighter-bombers.

This He 51B-2 version was a seaplane with two floats and served with I/JG 136 and II/JG 136 of the German Kriegsmarine during the late 1930s. The kit includes plastic sprues designed for an accurate representation of the aircraft, along with assembly instructions to guide construction. Its scale and part count make the subject clear for modellers looking to build this early Luftwaffe floatplane fighter.
