How do you know when it's charged? Mine went straight great does that mean it's charged

The light is to say its charging usually , the charge sends 300 mah so if you battery is 3000 mah it would take 10 hours 1800 mah would take 6 hours etc etc.

Will this charge the hpi racing 6.0v 4300mah nimh battery?

It will but will take over 17 hours for that battery.
