The ICM Hs 123A-1 is a 1:32 scale plastic model kit of the early production version of the WWII German dive bomber and ground attack aircraft. Renowned for its ruggedness in service from Poland through France and the Balkans, the Hs 123 carried two synchronised machine guns and up to 450 kg of bombs. This highly detailed kit captures the early airframe configuration and includes finely rendered cockpit and fuselage equipment.
An intriguing historical touch is included via markings for Lieutenant Siegfried Hamann’s aircraft from 3./Fliegergruppe 50. Hamann famously proved his flying skills in an Hs 123 painted with humorous sceptical slogans by ground crew—an episode reflected in one of the decal options.

In the summer of 1938, an interesting story unfolded involving one such Hs 123. Lieutenant Siegfried Hamann, the adjutant of the 3./Fliegergruppe 50 commander who had no formal pilot training, secretly learned to fly the aircraft and later confessed this to his commander. Given permission to demonstrate his skills, Hamann was provided with an Hs 123 that ground personnel had painted with large, whimsical inscriptions of a humorous and sceptical nature—expressing their disbelief in his abilities. Despite this scepticism, Hamann's flight was successful, proving his capabilities and earning him status as a full-fledged pilot. By 1939, he had joined III./St.G2 as a pilot and participated in the attack on Poland.
