This final version of the Countach marked a major step forward, drawing heavily on lessons from the 1986 Countach Evoluzione prototype, noted as the first supercar constructed in carbon fibre.

In this 25th Anniversary evolution, around 3,000 of the car’s approximately 8,000 components were revised. The air box and intakes were redesigned and enlarged, side skirts (often referred to as miniskirts) were added, and the suspension geometry was reworked. Enhanced aerodynamics contributed to a 300 km/h maximum speed. This was the last Countach variant to remain in production, continuing until 1990, when it was succeeded by the Diablo.
