About The Sea Harrier FRS.1

The British Aerospace Sea Harrier was a VTOL/STOVL-capable fighter designed for the Royal Navy’s fleet air defence role. Entering service in the late ’70s and early ’80s, it saw frontline action in 1982 from HMS Invincible and HMS Hermes during the Falklands War, where it proved highly effective. While unable to match the outright speed and flight characteristics of opponents such as the Mirage 111, the Sea Harrier was extremely manoeuvrable and reliable in demanding operating conditions.

Typical offensive capability included two 30 mm ADEN cannon mounted in pods beneath the fuselage, with four sub-wing hardpoints for launching air-to-air missiles.
