J Concepts Hawk - Platinum Sand Front Tire on JC3425B Wheels

One of the best ways to attack the dirt and sand is with the new Hawk tire by JConcepts. The multi-rib front tires are directional and meant to cut through the loam and silt dirt. The perfect front tire that fits the Traxxas X-Maxx and XRT for running in the desert, beach sand, or anything that provides more rear grip than front steering control. The Hawk front tire for large-scale trucks is 1:1 inspired to provide best in class looks and performance. The tire carcass has strategically placed radius ribs in a step-up fashion to give turning traction during different depths of surface conditions.

According to JConcepts ambassadors, when driving a large-scale vehicle in loose sand conditions, a rear tire like the Animal #4016-3994 (paddle style tire) produces a large amount of forward traction and throws considerable rooster tails. Using the same tire on the front of the vehicle usually results in either damage to the body of the vehicle or filling the inside of the vehicle with dirt. It is also reported that a “paddle” style tire does not turn quite as well under low or high power. Using a ribbed front tire like the Hawk doesn’t hurt forward acceleration but allows the vehicle to turn better without throwing dirt inside or to the side of the body or roll-cage.

One of the most important functions of driving in loose dirt is the ability to track the vehicle in a straight-line. The Hawk front tire is cut to perform during long straight sections of bashing and flat-out high-speed runs across the RC sand dunes.
