Description
The JConcepts Pin Swag - Brown Compound 2.2 Slim Front tyre, part number SCH-JC3181-012, is a 2.2-inch front racing tyre for 2WD models. It combines the outer lugs of the JConcepts Swagger front tyre with a dense arrangement of round, pointed pins. This version uses the brown medium-soft compound.
The low-profile carcass is designed to move smoothly through turns and transitions at both low and high speeds. The tread is divided along the centre so the sections can respond individually to changing surfaces. A staggered section with an angular leading edge sits behind a vertical rib, while the close spacing of the pins and lugs helps distribute contact across the tyre and minimise wear.
Features
The sidewall tread moves through a smooth transition before dropping to a ledge, providing a defined steering response. A substantial base supports the crisp pin ends, and the scalloped bead removes material from the bead area to reduce rotating weight. The bead shape also leaves edges and ledges for adhesive during installation, while the bead tips locate against the wheel's inner beads for alignment.
This Pin Swag tyre is supplied in brown compound and is available for 2.2-inch bead mounting. Suggested compatibility is the JConcepts #3376 Slim Front Wheel. The design is intended for the reduced-width front wheel format used by 2WD racing models.

The Swag is split down the center to give a little individual control to contort to surfaces. In between, a stagger section with angular front is placed just behind a vertical rib to complete the design. The tight spacing of the Pin and Swag bite together and minimize wear across the carcass. An already low-profile carcass like the successful Fuzz Bites rolls through the turns and transitions well at high and low speeds. Available in original pink (medium) compound, brown (medium soft), and new purple (soft) compound to provide more grip when surfaces have worn or lower traction conditions exist.
A unique feature on the Pin Swag and many of the JConcepts carpet | turf racing tires, is the scalloped tire bead which removes a lot of weight from a normally beefy area. The tips of the bead touch off on the inner beads on the wheel which lead to a great alignment but now with reduced rotating weight. During the gluing process, it is also handy to have some breathing room for the glue, and the geometry gives many edges and ledges to adhere to. Offered in 2.2” bead mounting diameter to fit popular wheels, available in bright white and fluorescent yellow.
