The Smoothie 2 tire has been quite a hit for the last 4 years on and off track earning just about all accolades possible in the 1:10th off-road division. Sampled many times, the original Smoothie is still a champion and continues to be so. However, JConcepts has been secretly developing the Smoothie 3. Intended for 1:10th dirt oval, and off-road, the new 3rd generation has a host of new design elements incorporated into a new low-slung tire carcass.
In some conditions in off-road racing, there is no denying that a slick tire is the fastest way around the track. Throughout the racing calendar year, there are several tracks where slicks in blue, green, and gold compounds are the go-to tire. Indoors and occasionally outdoor clay surfaces become so tacky or free of dust and debris that a total slick tire is an advantage. The Smoothie 3 carcass is lightweight, incorporates the scalloped tire beads into the design for even more innovation and weight considerations. Also, the tire sidewall lettering is now recessed for a clean contact patch for sidewall gluing.
The sidewalls have ribs that extend up in off the bead area in an array of equally spaced positions to strengthen critical areas. Released as a 2.2” bead mounting diameter, the JConcepts Smoothie 3 mount straight to the latest generation wheels for all important reactive feel. The carefully profiled slightly thickened tire carcass rolls through the turns with efficiency while the maximum smooth surface area grips the specialty surfaces like no other.
The Smoothies include Dirt-Tech inserts which have made an immediate presence on the racing scene since their release. The identifiable gray color with custom sculpted features, are blended into the insert material which provides racers a durable option capable of being used in medium to extremely high-traction conditions. The product is always backed by JConcepts customer service, supported, and developed by professionals with style and authenticity. Look for reputable dealers and distributors and demand authentic and licensed products – choose JConcepts.
