The Ki-10 was the main fighter aircraft of the Japanese Imperial Army during the late 1930s. This kit depicts the modified Ki-10-II version, which featured an increased wingspan and length compared with the earlier aircraft.

The first Ki-10 prototype was constructed by Kawasaki under the supervision of Takeo Doi and completed in March 1935. The aircraft entered production as the Type 95 Fighter in September of that year. Production changed to the Ki-10-II between November 1937 and December 1938. These aircraft saw service during the Japan-Chinese war from 1937 and in the Soviet-Japan conflict at the Khalhin-Gol river in 1939.
