The ICM LaGG-3 series 7-11 - WWII Soviet Fighter (HC-ICM48093) is a 1:48 plastic model kit of the Soviet fighter aircraft from the Second World War. The LaGG-3 was developed immediately before WWII by S. Lavochkin, V. Gorbunov and M. Gudkov, with the first I-301 prototype completed in March 1940. Its design used an all-wooden construction, and serial production began in January 1941 at five plants, with Plant 21 in Gorky becoming the main producer.

This kit represents LaGG-3 aircraft from the 7th and 11th production series. The 7th series carried a ShVAK cannon, BS heavy machine gun and two ShKAS machine guns, while the 11th series removed the ShKAS guns and added six PS-82 guns. In service on the Soviet-German front, the aircraft was noted for its solid construction and powerful armament, although its weight and handling made it demanding to fly. The kit includes detailed plastic sprues and assembly instructions for constructing the aircraft in scale.

Markings

Two marking options are provided, representing aircraft used by Soviet fighter units in 1942. The schemes cover a LaGG-3 series 11 aircraft flown by Captain V. Mironov of the 609th Fighter Regiment at Afrikanda airfield in the Murmansk area, and a series 7 aircraft of the 3rd Guards Fighter Regiment of the Baltic Fleet Air Force in the Leningrad area.
