The LGB HSB Steam Loco 99 5901 EP VI (HC-L26591) is a finely detailed model of the Harz Narrow Gauge Railways locomotive as it appears in Era VI. Built in heavy metal construction with numerous separately applied details, it captures the presence of the prototype with working features and a faithful black/red livery and lettering.

Power is delivered by two robust motors, with all driving wheelsets powered via coupling rods. The Mallet design running gear is intricately rendered, including complete valve gear and a propulsion mechanism for the lubrication pump. Practical touches such as opening cab doors and an opening smoke box door enhance display and handling.

Digital control is provided by an onboard mfx/DCC decoder offering a wide range of light and sound functions. Headlights, cab lighting and running gear lights accompany authentic running sounds, while a whistle and bell can be triggered by reed switches. Running sounds are also available in analogue operation. A built-in smoke unit delivers wheel-synchronised exhaust, plus cylinder steam and steam at the whistle when activated. Digitally controlled LGB couplers are fitted at both ends and can be removed if desired, and sprung buffers complete the specification. Length over buffers is 40 cm (15-3/4 in.).
